Holiday Season 2009

This holiday season I was able to photograph some amazing families!

The Allen's are always a blast to photograph. I started taking pictures for them when they found out they would be having a baby! After doing their maternity and infant sessions, sweet Mylee finally made her appearance just in time for her first Christmas!





The photo sessions I had with the Ridley family were great. Cameron, the little boy, is so smart and so incredibly adorable. The parent's were so easy to get along with and helped make their session's fun for all of us! Erinn, the mom, used their two photo sessions (one to present to the dad as a gift, and one that included him in it) for a birthday gift for her husband. They really are an amazing family :-)




The Wright family was incredible! The baby girl was too cute for words, and the two boys were hilarious! The picture above sums up the boys' personalities to the t! When I saw this picture after reviewing all of them, I could not stop laughing. If the dad was showing in the photograph, it would be absolutely perfect! But sometimes there are moments that you just have to go for... :-)

I am looking forward to meeting many more great families throughout 2010! :-)

Maven's First Birthday!

I had the honor of photographing the sweetest little boy's first birthday party. His amazing parents went all out for his birthday! The theme was the very loved Handy Manny. The party was beautiful and very special for the family, and I am very honored to have been able to capture their child's first birthday for them! Here are just a few of the photos taken that day! Award Winner!

Thank you to everyone who supported Sivan Photography in the GetThePicture.tv contest! I received a phone call from them saying that I won!

Here is Manny's (the man behind the contest!) review on my photo (found on GetThePicture.tv)

Sivan's winning entry "Stunning Eyes" caught everyones attention. The image impressed our judges and it most certainly caught the eyes of the hundreds of people who voted in the contest. The photograph is remarkable in several ways. The obvious close up of the young girls face gets everyones attention. But Sivan used her skills to make her picture even better. The great use of black and white added a stylized, idealistic feel to the image. The soft lighting worked well within the contrast range of the camera and there was no clutter in the background. The viewers focus is truly on the childs face and ofcourse "Stunning Eyes". Sivan is a student at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Sarees and Churidars

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing quite the event! It was a 60th birthday party of an Indian man. His son planned the incredible party in his honor. When I got there, I was so happy to see that all of the women wore the traditional Indian sarees and churidars, and they all looked gorgeous in them!

As the evening went on, I learned that I was not simply at a 60th birthday party. It is tradition that when the father turns 60, he and the mother renew their vows. They had a ceremony that morning and the party in the evening. The parents exchange garments and cut the cake, and everyone has such an amazing time! They really showed me a great evening! Everyone at the party was outgoing, happy, and a joy to be with!

As the night was coming to an end, they made sure I did not leave without trying their food! They had fish, chicken, rice, and everything you can image: all spicy and delicious!

While I was enhancing the photos from that night, I smiled from ear-to-ear as I saw pictures of the dancing and all of their smiling faces. This will be an event that will stay with me forever!

I recently submitted one of my favorite photographs into a contest on GetThePicture.tv. It is of a beautiful little girl (who happens to be my niece!). The photograph is a black and white close-up of her (the toddler). Out of 700 photographs submitted to the contest, 20 were chosen by judges to be voted on in this upcoming month! And mine was among them!

Behind The Lens

Hi everyone!
I decided to go ahead and start a blog for everyone to know updates with SivanPhotography!

To begin, I would like to say that I appreciate all of the support I have had with the start of this business! It is always so great to hear how pleased people are with my work!

For those of you who do not know me, I will share with you just a bit about who I am and why I decided to be a photographer.

I am 23 years old and am a Micro & Molecular Biology student at the University of Central Florida. Throughout my years in college, I was always the one with the camera. Going out to dinner with friends, going to social gatherings, and anything in between, everyone knew they could count on good ol' Sivan to capture the evening's event on camera! Not only that, but they knew they would be seeing the photos THAT evening. As the years went by, camera attached to my hip and all, I quickly developed a large collection of photos. My niece became my number one subject when she was born, and because of her I realized how much I adore photographing kids! After working at a photography studio for a year, I decided it was time to start my own business so that I could be free to really put my own style into my photographs.
